In memory
David has been a very devoted member of our BMM family since 1991 & will be greatly missed by us all.
He passed on 7 January 2020.
It is with very great sadness that we announce the sad passing of one of “our family”
-
David has been one of our dancers for 28 years; a time cut far too short aged just 52 years.
A gentle & humble soul, David influenced many during his life through his active involvement in the Church, Scouts, Gang Shows and of course, Morris, quietly making good friends wherever he went.
He started dancing with his local side Eyhorne Morris, but when they disbanded in
1991, both he & his brother joined us at Boughton Monchelsea Morris -
From when he first joined BMM, David became an integral part of the Side gently guiding & helping new members until they too were proficient; with his quiet way, he has left forever a vast, David shaped void that we will never be able to fill.
Until his illness prevented it, he was one of our most reliable members, rarely missing practise or a stand over the years, being in his element whenever & wherever we danced out.
It was through David’s influence, that we, as a Side, developed & went on to teach many of the younger generation at Schools, Churches and the Scouts, incorporating all 3 of David’s great loves.
We feel that David’s memory will be commemorated by the impact he had on others, including ourselves, and this can be appreciated by the messages we have received from our friends & local sides.
At BMM, we will forever remember the fortitude David showed & courage, always coming
along to practise; even after his cancer diagnosis he came whenever he possibly
could, -
We’ll never forget you David.
